Holiday apartment for max. 4 persons
Badalucco, Liguria, (Ligurian Alps), Italy
Two holiday apartments in a historic, beautifully converted stone house with terraces in a panoramic location
The house is in the middle of the countryside, between the towns of Badalucco and Bajardo, and offers a stunning panoramic view. It is especially suitable for nature lovers who are looking for peace and quiet, and it’s ideal for hikers and mountain bikers. The footpath up to the house climbs through the terrace gardens (approximately five to eight minutes).
The garden is a terraced property with several seating areas (separate areas) and two barbecue/grill fireplaces, a historic pizza oven, a summer house with a table and benches as well as a washing machine for both apartments, two hammocks, eight sun loungers and a garden swing. The bathtub and the shower under an olive tree (each with hot water) are a particular highlight. You can park in a parking bay on the road below the house.
A German family lives barely a kilometre from the house and, upon consultation, will offer ceramics, yoga, reiki and meditation courses. If you bring your friends along (perhaps in the second holiday apartment), then the rates will be cheaper per person.
The distance to Badalucco (for shopping) is about 9 km. The Mediterranean beach in Arma di Taggia is only 18 km away. This free communal sandy beach is flat and therefore also recommended for children. You can swim from mid / late May to early October. The nature of the Argentina valley offers an almost unique diversity. The distance from the palms and agaves in the Mediterranean via the shrubland, olive groves, and deciduous forests with chestnuts to the larches and spruces at high altitude is not even 30 km. You can observe marmots in the alpine rose fields on Monte Saccarello. You can also see, e.g., wild lavender along the Passo di Teglia, a recommended panoramic road from Molini di Triora. Liguria is ideal for hiking. Monte Ceppo (1627 m) near Bajardo (about 10 km from the holiday home) offers a phenomenal view over the sea and the Alps on a short climb (about 1 hour). Hikes up Monte Bignone (north of Sanremo 1299 m, about 1 hr.) and Monte Faldo (east of Badalucco, 1149 m, about 3 hrs.) are also recommended. The walk from Badalucco to the San Bernardo Chapel and on to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve (about 3 hours. 784 m) is also very nice. Liguria's highest mountain, Mount Saccarello (2200 m), is climbed from Verdeggia and is only for those with experience (3 hrs.). Guided hikes can be booked on site. Worthwhile excursions include, among others, the Hanbury Gardens in Ventimiglia, the artists' village of Bussana Vecchia (turn right between Taggia and Bussana), the gardens with palm trees and flowers as well as the historic quarter of Sanremo, and Triora in a panoramic location with its historic building stock and the Museum of Ethnography. A journey along the middle or upper panoramic road between Menton and Nice, or a trip to Monte Ceppo (you can then walk to the summit in an hour and enjoy a fantastic view) is very nice. The historical places in the Argentina valley, e.g. Triora in a unique landscape, are worth seeing. The river has created impressive rock formations near Molini di Triora. All the routes and mountain roads are very interesting and rich in variety for car trips. You could travel in all directions for weeks, without getting to know all the routes.
