Holiday accommodation in the old town of Montafia, with a big garden for shared use
These two holiday apartments (a studio and an apartment) are in a house that was recently renovated in 2015, in the old town of Montafia.
Outside there is a 1500m² garden. The west side of the garden offers a great view of the Don Bosco sanctuary, the hilly Turin landscape and the Alpine mountain chain. You can also enjoy the view of beautiful sunsets. From the south side, the garden affords a great view of the little piazza of the San Dionigi Church. The north side of the garden borders an old wall. The wall bathed in sunshine stores heat and exudes warmth nearby after sunset, also I the early spring and late autumn. The hollows in the walls fill with caper bushes in summer, with beautiful blossom. On the east side there is the paved access way with a gate. The garden has some furnished areas where you can enjoy your breakfast. You are welcome to help yourselves from the fruit trees in the garden. There are public parking spaces on the nearby piazza. It is recommended to park there, as the roads in the old town are very narrow. There are two car parking spaces on site and there is also a garage (subject to availability).
Apartment 2 This apartment of around 65m² is on the first floor and has a bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200cm), a bedroom with two single beds (90 x 200cm), a bathroom with a big shower, and a living room with a comfortable armchair bed (80 x 190cm). The living room also comprises a kitchen equipped with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and fridge. The outdoor area features a furnished terrace for al fresco dining. The two apartments have under-floor heating. The house is well-insulated and pleasantly cool. Free wireless Internet access is available.
Montafia is a typical little village in the Piemonte region with about 900 inhabitants, preserving the authenticity of past times. The village has a piazza with a bar/trattoria, where locals gather on Mondays, market day, to chat about the previous day’s football matches. Montafia has various grocery shops, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office etc. Very close to Montafia there are little Romanesque churches to be explored. Within 2km you can find three such churches. The land belonging to Montafia invites you to go on walks or cycle tours. There are also riding stables, little lakes where you can go fishing, and agriturismi for unforgettable gastronomic tours. Asti is about 20km from the house, with festivals held there in September. Many gastronomic events are held between November and December, the truffle season. So there is plenty to explore in the region. It is possible to hire two Vespas ET4 125cc for one to two people for a fee. Insurance and helmets
are included. The condition is of course a suitable driving licence. Further information is
available on request from customer service and in the arrival information.
The site is completely enclosed by walls. The owners live about 100 metres from the house, but not on site. They are happy to assist with any queries. The owners run a little shop on site for homemade craft and gift items (unusual jewellery made of wrought iron, lamps made of dried pumpkins, and typical local products such as wine, honey, jam, hazelnuts). The shop partially adjoins the house.
